Kimi was born Kimberly Marie Sarchione in the rural town of Alliance, Ohio. She realized at a very early age her love for performing when, at three, she began taking dance classes. In high school, she was accepted to a prestigious summer acting program at The North Carolina School of the Arts.

While in high school, Kimi became a member of the Speech and Debate Team. She competed in Drama Interpretation, making a quick rise as a stand-out student. She won numerous awards, including first place at the State Championships.

After graduation from high school, Kimi attended Heidelberg College and majored in Communication and Theatre Arts.
